Μaria Chatzi, author of the ebook «Ο magikos kirios Kolotoumpas grafei istories», shares with us step-by-step instructions to create our own Easter bookmark!
What about the materials?
- a piece of yellow craft paper (14cm x 7cm)
- a small square piece of orange paper (1cm x 1cm)
- 2 small square pieces of white paper (2,5cm x 2,5cm
each)
- a small piece of narrow ribbon, 5cm long, color:
pink or light blue
- a black marker
-
pencil
-
scissors
-
glue
Instructions
1. Use your
pencil to draw two separate quarters of a circle on the yellow craft paper.
2. On one of
these circle quarters draw flaps on both sides, as shown in picture 1. This is
going to be the front side of your bookmark. Cut off all flap points. And then,
cut out the two circle quarters with your scissors.
3. Place them
one on top of the other. The one with
the flaps should be at the bottom. Fold the flaps upwards, as shown in picture
2.
4. Then glue
the flaps onto this second circle quarter. This is the back side of your
bookmark.
5. Now turn
your bookmark over, on its front side. Rotate the little orange square piece of
paper, so that it looks like a beak and glue it. Use your black marker to draw
the beak line.
6. Fold the
ribbon in half, glue it on the top of your bookmark (its corner) and use your
scissors to make the ribbon’s ends pointed.
7. With the
black marker again, draw the bird’s eyes - you could add eyelashes if you like.
For steps 5, 6 and 7 look at picture 3.
8. To
continue, use your pencil to draw two identical bird wings on the two little
square white pieces of paper (you could draw one first, cut it out and use it
as a template for the second one). Cut out the bird wings. Glue them on the
back side of your bookmark, one on the left and one on the right, as shown in
picture 4.
The glue on one side of your bookmark has to dry
completely before turning the bookmark over to continue on the other side.
Your Easter birdie is ready to decorate a corner of
your book’s pages (Picture 5).
