Starting with the capture moments from the town of
Kavalas through the photographic lens of Anastasios Vogiatzidis, and the
motivational strength of the children’s enthusiasm taking part in the constructing musical
instruments from recycled materials workshop, by Iraklis Lampadariou, the side
action of the 57th Festival of Filippi “Life Steps, human moments” was completed
at Πεντακόσια (Pentakosia) of Kavala.
The visitors browsed at the photography exhibition,
where the captions had excerpts from different works of literature, by Saita
Publications .They were handpicked by the authors, to awaken the emotions and
senses.
They were then lead to the “tree of emotions” where
they all took turns to convey one single emotion and “dress” it with sounds
from within the workshop of constructing musical instruments (tap dancing,
xylophone, wand, pluvial, tambourine, drums, guitar, maracas, and the sistrum.
While they had the chance to give it color through the workshop of constructing
decorations from metal from refreshment caps, by Mary Lampadariou
If there is an interest, the photography exhibition
can be accommodated and in other parts or our country. Those who are interested
may contact Saita Publications for further information.
The photographs of the action were taken by Diana Seitanidou.
Words from the contributors:
“All people, all countries, and each race carry inside
their baggage their own customs, transferred from generation to generation to
convey the basis of modalities for a decent living. The Greek people carry
inside their baggage civilization, which I think stands as the only solution to
these troubled times we are living. Actions like the one yesterday are our
answer to passivity, by trying to “enlighten” and fill this world with colors,
values and ideas, which will elevate people and give a different “touch” to
their daily routine.”
Anastasios Vogiatzidis
“Everyone is familiar with the outworn saying: ‘a
picture is worth a thousand words’. By purposely limiting the words from the
works of the authors, we aim for the whisper of words and the combustion of
emotions. Having this as our core, the design for the rest of the actions
progressed, with the “protagonists” the guests.
I give warm thanks to Thodoris Gonis
the Creative Director of ΔΗ.ΠΕ.ΘΕ Kavalas and of the 57th Festival
Filippon, for accommodating our side action at the historical institution,
which our town had the honor of hosting”.
Iraklis Lampadariou
